UV disinfection

Here we answer all your questions about UV disinfection, which we provide for you in the shop.

HOW DOES THE PHONESOAP DEVICE WORK?

How does the PhoneSoap device work?

Just put your phone inside the PhoneSoap device and close the lid. During a 10-minute disinfection cycle, the device uses UV-C light to eliminate 99.99% of pathogens from the surface of your phone. Once the blue light turns off, you can take your disinfected phone out of the PhoneSoap device.

How long is a disinfection cycle?

HOW LONG DOES A DISINFECTION CYCLE TAKE?

The PhoneSoap device takes 10 minutes to disinfect your phone. Once the light on the device has switched off, the disinfection cycle is complete.

Can I leave the phone case on my phone?

CAN I KEEP THE PHONE CASE AROUND MY PHONE?

Of course! It's even better to leave the case on your phone, because it's also in contact with our hands a lot and can have as many germs as the phone itself.

How can I charge my phone with PhoneSoap?

HOW DO I CHARGE MY PHONE WITH PHONESOAP?

The PhoneSoap 3 device has a USB and a USB-C port which you can use to charge your mobile phone during and after the disinfection cycle. The PhoneSoap Go also has a USB and a USB-C post, so it can be used as a power bank. If the PhoneSoap Go is fully charged, it can charge a phone several times (depending on the type of phone).

Do all phones fit in the PhoneSoap devices?

WILL MY PHONE FIT INTO THE PHONESOAP DEVICE?

The most common phone types fit into the PhoneSoap devices without any problems. However, larger phone accessories may not fit in with the phone. However, these can be disinfected separately as any surface can be disinfected as long as the item fits inside the PhoneSoap unit and the lid can be fully closed.

UV-C TECHNOLOGY

UV-C Technology

Light in the UV range is divided into three different categories: UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. The latter is located in the short-wave wavelength range of 100-280 nm and is able to damage the DNA and RNA of various microorganisms, killing or inactivating them. Thus, UV-C light has germicidal properties and can even neutralize antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

In general, the high-energy UV-C light is also harmful to us humans, especially to the skin and eyes. That's why the disinfection of the item in question takes place inside the PhoneSoap device, so your eyes and skin are safely protected. As soon as the disinfection is completed, the control light of the PhoneSoap device goes out and the disinfected object can be safely removed. Even if you remove the item during the disinfection cycle, a safety mechanism ensures that the UV lamp goes off as soon as the lid is opened.

What’s the difference between the PhoneSoap 3 and PhoneSoap Go?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PHONESOAP 3 AND GO?

Both devices have a USB and USB-C port. However, the difference is the color selection, the scope of delivery and the powerbank function.

PhoneSoap 3:

Colors: Black, Silver, Gold and Pink
Scope of delivery: AC/DC 12V power adapter

PhoneSoap Go:

Colors: White and Blue
Included in delivery: Carrying case and USB cable
Powerbank function: Rechargeable 6500 mAh battery.

Sufficient for multiple phone charges and 45 disinfection cycles.

Is PhoneSoap safe for my phone?

IS PHONESOAP SAFE FOR MY PHONE?

The PhoneSoap devices are completely safe for your phone, because they don't use any water or chemical products, only UV-C light. Lightly pigmented plastic can become discoloured under certain circumstances if exposed to UV light over a long period of time. However, this would require many hours of continuous exposure, such as exposing a phone to sunlight for a long time. The PhoneSoap disinfects your phone in just 10 minutes, so your phone should not become discoloured. This means that your phone is safe inside the PhoneSoap device, but germs are not!
